As you may have already read in Jessie’s recap post, Christmas Eve Eve, one of my favorite nights of the year, has come and gone! Jessie covered all the awesome details so I will try not to repeat anything, but figured I should chime in and post some pics from the night. As always it was an amazing evening and it was wonderful to catch up and hear stories about what has been going on in everyone’s lives. Even though we do a fairly good job of staying in touch year round, there are some stories that just HAVE to be told in person and we were dying laughing at some points of the evening.
This Christmas get together was extra special for me because before dinner I asked each of the superfriends to be my bridesmaids! To ask them, I made them each a collage on shutterfly with photos of the two of us. It’s easy to see why we all became friends in elementary school, middle school and high school: we saw each other every day, were in the same classes and participated in similar extracurriculars. The fact that we are still such good friends nine years later despite going to six different colleges and living in five different states (and Germany!) is truly a testament to how amazing these girls are. I cannot wait to have them by my side on my wedding day!!!
I will also have one other bridesmaid, Carrie, who was my little in the co-ed frat I was part of in college. Carrie is thoughtful, hilarious and can break it down on the dance floor. I will also have co-maids of honor: Jessie and Jeanette. Jeanette was my random roommate my freshman year of college and we liked each other so much that we lived together for seven more years. When I moved out of the apartment I lived in with Jeanette to move in with Adam it really was the end of an era!
The day after Christmas we got together again for lunch with Sasha since she had to miss the Christmas Eve Eve gathering. We went to Sunflower, our favorite vegetarian restaurant, and chowed down on soy General Tso’s “chicken” while exchanging gifts and catching up. Christmas may have come and gone but we still have New Year’s Eve to look forward to – can’t wait!
