It’s a bit of a bittersweet holiday season for me this year. My parents are splitting up and moving out of the home in Fairfax where they have lived for the last twenty+ years. The split has been a long time coming, so no surprises there, but there is just a feeling of unsettled-ness that comes with thinking about my mom in a new apartment in a new town. There is also something a little sad about no longer having a reason to come back to Fairfax (except for when the super friends are in town) and packing up all the photos, notes and mementos from my childhood. I am super excited for our 10th annual Christmas eve eve dinner and a number of holiday funtivities with friends and family, but with the upcoming move (in early January) looming over me things are just a little heavier.
Sooo yeah, many hilarious pics! Expect to see more throwbacks in the future!
And of course the holidays aren’t all doom and gloom over here! A couple weeks ago, Jeanette and I held an amazing ugly sweater holiday party in a private room at a local bar, Ropewalk. We put up some holiday decorations, the bar had some great drink specials and we gave out prizes for the best and worst holiday sweaters. And of course Turkey attended as well! There is something so fun about drinking with friends in hilarious outfits. I was seriously impressed with all the holiday attire people were sporting.
Jeanette made her own holiday sweater! Those patches are actually gift card holders that J got at Michaels. She attached them to the sweater along with some puff balls and tinsel.
I hope everyone is having a happy holiday season! I am heading out tonight to dinner and a Christmas lights show. xoxo.
